The occupation continues the closure of al-Masjid al-Aqṣā for the eleventh consecutive day, preventing Tarāwīḥ prayers and iʿtikāf during the last ten days of Ramaḍān.

Remember al-Masjid al-Aqṣā in your duʿā’ during these blessed nights.

    Surah al-Hujurat - Reflection 21
Be From the Best

• When it comes to honour and rank in the sight of Allah, the Qurʾān leaves no room for ambiguity. True distinction is not based on lineage, race, tribe, gender, status, or wealth, but on taqwā. All the measures by which people elevate or belittle one another are swept aside by this single, decisive criterion.

• Taqwā is to stay away from Allah’s anger by obeying His commands and abstaining from His prohibitions.

• This teaching eradicates racial, tribal, gender, and social hierarchies that the world often uses to divide and oppress. The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Allah does not look at your outer forms or your wealth, but He looks at your hearts and your deeds” (Bukhārī).
•
This principle establishes the universal vision of Islam: a dīn that embraces all peoples, all colours, and all nations, placing virtue, piety, and moral excellence above every worldly distinction. It is taqwā alone that grants true distinction. Those who seek honour in the eyes of Allah must therefore compete in righteousness, for Allah is All-Knowing, fully aware of both hearts and actions.

Reflect: Why did Allah choose to end this āyah with these two specific Names?

Act: Taqwā is a daily pursuit for the believer. One of the greatest obstacles to taqwā in our time is the smartphone. How can you use it with greater taqwā? What habits do you need to stop or change when using it?

The Prophet ﷺ identified that the best of those who fast are those who remember Allah the most. This teaches us to *constantly engage in dhikr whilst we are fasting.*

The Prophet ﷺ would remember Allah throughout the entire day. This is reflected in the various adhkār and duʿās authentically narrated from him.

In Ramaḍān, we should fill our days and nights with the remembrance of Allah.
