Recite by Night, Conquer by Day

After the Battle of Qādisiyyah (15 AH), Saʿd b. Abī Waqqāṣ (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) sent a letter to ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu), relaying to him the good news of the victory. In the letter, he mentioned: ‘Saʿd b.ʿUbayd the Reciter (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) was martyred, and so-and-so, and so-and so was martyred, and men amongst the Muslims who are only known to Allah; He surely knows them… When night would fall, they would recite the Qur’ān like the buzzing of the bees; and during the day, they were lions unlike any other.’
The duʿās of the Prophets are not just stories; they are timeless lessons in turning to Allah with humility, sincerity, trust and patience.

From Yūnus (ʿalayhis-salām), who called upon Allah in the depths of darkness,
to Ayyūb (ʿalayhis-salām), who endured unimaginable pain yet never lost patience or trust in his Lord, to Zakariyyā (ʿalayhis-salām), who made duʿā with sincerity even when all worldly means seemed closed.

Reflect on these lessons and bring the duʿās of the Prophets into your own life: https://lifewithallah.com/my-dua-companion/11-lessons-from-the-prophets-prayers/
What adhkār do you recite in ṣalāh? Are they always the same adhkār? Do you tend to repeat the ones you memorised when you first learnt how to pray?

The practice of the Prophet ﷺ was to vary the adhkār within ṣalāh. Memorise and recite the different adhkār and duʿās within your ṣalāh (particularly in voluntary prayers) to increase your khushūʿ, taste the sweetness of ṣalāh, and reflect deeply on what you are saying.
Join us in this new weekly series and bring these adhkār into your ṣalāh, inshā’Allāh.
May Allah make us among those who rely on Him alone and are content with His decree.
